defloured: A Gluten Free Bakery is an italian deli in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed at 1477 W Balmoral Ave, Chicago, IL 60640, which places it among the local businesses of Chicago that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I’m so grateful for this place I cannot even put it into words! I have a corn allergy and gluten and dairy intolerance so pretty much all sweet treats are a no go. I truly thought I’d never be able to order a birthday or anniversary cake again and that if I wanted to eat cake I better learn to bake! Defloured is so accommodating to dietary restrictions and their cakes taste incredible (much better than I could ever do thank goodness!). I get so excited to order from them and enjoy cake around special events. Thank you for existing and for caring so deeply about allergies so we can all be included in special celebrations!!!

I’ve had hit or miss experiences here. Overall I’ve enjoyed most of the things I’ve gotten, and I’ll always support a gluten free bakery, but they do have a consistency/quality issue when it comes to freshness. First time I got the oatmeal sandwich cookie it was DELICIOUS, the cookies were so chewy and frosting was nice and soft. Second time the cookies were legit hard as a rock. They have a ton of variety in stock at all times, so it seems impossible for everything to be made fresh, and the cookie confirmed that for me. I’m bummed that I spent the same amount of money for something that is obviously stale. They should focus on quality over variety so they aren’t selling things that are day+ old.

Check this place out! If you have food allergies this place is amazing as there are so many choices! If you don't have food allergies this place has an amazing selection! I stumbled on it on St. Patrick's when I was looking for soda bread and most bakeries has sold out. This bakery was also sold out, but the owner said she would make more and to come by in an hour. I felt guilty at first but took her up on the offer and I am glad I did. This place is now a twice a month occasion to load up on goodies. TL:DR get one of everything and thank me later!

Fantastic, gluten-free bakery! I ordered my specialty cake online, the process was exactly as they said it would be. Super streamlined and simple. The cake itself was absolutely delicious! The texture of it was like a normal, homemade cake. Not dry at all like some GF cakes. The bakers nailed the Max and Ruby theme! Extremely happy with the entire experience. The cake was one of the best cakes any of us has ever had!

This place is amazing. The pizza is so good, and the lemon blueberry loaf was incredibly soft. I’ve tried a lot of gluten free bakeries and this one is worth the stop. Absolutely everything here is amazing. The service is also very quick and friendly.
